TRANSCRIPT: If you're watching this video and you love the trans and gender diverse people in your life then keep listening. The Indian government has recently introduced a Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment bill, 2026. It does everything but protect the rights of trans and gender diverse people. There are many, many issues with the bill. It severely restricts the definition of who gets to legally count as a transgender person, basically excluding communities of transgender men, masculine people, gender diverse people, non-binary people, basically people like me from its ambit. It also has criminal provisions against activists, trans organisations, educators, parents, basically anybody who wants to help the trans and gender diverse people in there, like, it also requires that trans people prove their transness in front of a medical board. And if you're a cisgender person watching this, ask yourself when was the last time you had to prove your gender in front of a medical board? Don't lose hope. There are several ways through which you can help. The an email campaign happening right now, using [this link], you can send an email to your member of parliament and ask them to reject the bill. You are a regional organisation, international organisation. Make sure that you are raising awareness around this issue in your community and starting solidarity with the tran and gender diverse communities in India.Gen
